than可以用作连词
than用作连词的意思是“比”,可指两个不同的人或物在同一方面进行比较,也可指同一个人或物在两个不同方面进行比较 。
than用作连词时接名词或代词的主格形式是较正式的用法,若人称代词之后跟有动词, than后的人称代词只能用主格 。
若than所连接的两个待比较的句子有相同成分,后者通常省略,若所连接的两个待比较的没有相同成分则不能省略 。

一、 more than

different加上from，to，than有什么区别?
关于different的词组，我们通常学到的都是将其与from连用 。
其实 ， different to和different than也是正确的 ， 意思都是“与……不同”，那这三个词组之间的区别是什么呢?
different from源于英式英语，在正式写作和使用中是首选 。
different than则在美式英语中使用的较多 。如果在英国这样说，有人会认为这种用法是错误的 。
原因是than常与比较级形容词连用，在句中引入比较，而different并不是一个比较级形容词，所以这个词组听起来不太自然 。
而different to多用于口语 ， 使用情况较少 。因此保险起见 ， 大家还是继续使用different from这个词组 。
不过这几个词组在使用时会有细微的差别，如果后接一个从句，那么different than会更好，而如果后接名词或名词短语，different from更好 。
